What finance and engineering ask us first.
01 Do we need our own payment institution licence?
No. Nordfold operates the flow of funds under its own Danish licence and appears on your sellers' agreements as the payment institution. You keep the customer relationship and the commercial terms.
02 How long does the integration actually take?
Three endpoints cover most builds: create the split intent, confirm it, and subscribe to the payout webhook. Teams that have integrated a card gateway before are usually in sandbox the same afternoon and live within two weeks, most of which is KYB paperwork rather than code.
03 What happens when a seller leaves mid-payout cycle?
Funds already ledgered to that seller stay ledgered to them. You can freeze future splits without freezing settled balances, which is the distinction most stacks get wrong and the one that ends up in a dispute.
04 Can we keep our existing gateway?
Yes, for acquiring. Nordfold sits behind it as the ledger and payout layer. You lose same-authorisation splitting, so it is worth pricing both before committing.
